About Bianca

Hello! My name is Bianca Joyner. It’s nice to meet you! A little about me and my journey: 

I am a mom of four beautiful children. I am a wife to my wonderful husband Ralphael Joyner. I am a woman, who like all women, wears multiple hats, juggles many schedules, and functions in many dynamics. My family is my passion! As a mother, I do whatever it takes to be there for my children. As a wife, I do whatever it takes to be there for my husband. As a woman, I understand how hard it can be to be there for yourself. We are looked at as being the nurturers of the family. However, we must also nurture ourselves so we can continue to nurture others. 

I’ve always had a love for science, anatomy, and biology. I love how the body functions and the different ways that we can improve our quality of life through how we care for our bodies. I’ve also always had a love for helping people, children, and especially girls and women. I am passionate about girls and women having their voices heard. I want women to know who they are, and that they deserve God's best! They deserve to be cared for, nurtured, and celebrated. 

I do not have much patience with a thing of beauty that must be explained to be understood. If it does need additional interpretation by someone other than the creator, then I question whether it has fulfilled its purpose.

Going back into my own childhood, like many young girls, I had experiences growing up that caused me to not think very highly of myself. But my mom, was always the loudest voice in my ear. She taught me who I am, to value myself, and that my self-worth was defined from inside of me, never the external opinions of others. As I got older, I got bold enough to believe those things. I began to really see my own inner beauty, and now my passion is to inspire other women to see their own inner beauty. You don’t ever need to cover up who you are behind make-up. Make up is a tool to give us the confidence to let our inner beauty shine.

I originally went to college for early childhood education. During our residency program I had the opportunity to work with a little girl who was diagnosed with autism. Her mom wanted to hire me full time because I was so good working with her. I was often told that I had a lot of patience working with people and children. It wasn’t so much that I had more patience than others, but that I had a heart for those I was caring for; I genuinely loved them and didn’t mind making the extra time needed to work with them.

Fast-forward several years I got married, opened a day-care, and had two sons. My second son was also diagnosed with autism. Little did I know, my years spent working with children with disabilities would prepare me for my own son. To better care for my son’s needs, I closed my day care and began learning about more ways to support him. While learning new ways of supporting my son, it also ignited a new passion on the inside of me to support other mothers, who like myself, were balancing so much on their shoulders. It was through this pursuit that I learned about the value of massage and touch therapy.

Massage is a powerful health tool that can be used in the treatment of a variety of health conditions. As I started learning the value that massage and touch therapy can provide to women and children, I was inspired to obtain my own licensing. I Graduated from Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage in August of 2018 and began offering mobile massage therapy as a way to promote self-care among mothers and women.

Looking back at my journey I can see how the Lord masterfully intertwined all my heart’s passions and experiences. He strategically fit all the different pieces of my life together like a puzzle to create a beautiful picture that I am still walking into the fullness of. My business’ name “I Am The Pieces Of Wellness” was inspired by His beautifully created plan to bring me into a place of Wholeness and Well-being. And now I have the amazing opportunity to do that in the lives of others. Self-care must become an essential part of our routine because we are worth it.
